Ok, from the top. I was engaged last year & my ex-broke it off 2 months before the wedding. It's been almost a year at this point & I definitely don't miss that relationship, it turned out to be a real blessing in disguise.
A few months ago I met a guy that is absolutely incredible.
We see each other in group settings a few times a week and for the last few weeks we've been seriously flirting. It seems like he likes me quite a bit. I like him too, but keeping the previous fiasco in mind, I prefer to proceed with caution.
I'd like to get to know him as a friend first, so I tried to tone the flirting down a notch and it seems like he assumed I was not interested in him.
Now I'm pretty scared to be in a relationship again & it's entirely possible he picked up on that vibe as well.
How do I communicate that I'm very interested in getting to know him, without saying it point blank?
I'm also not sure how/when & if I should tell him about my not so successful engagement. Help?

just tell him that you want to take things slowly if he likes you he wont mind
